Canadian Lynx

When I first saw this photo, the eyes of this fantastic creature mesmerized me. At the same time I was fascinated by the great giant paws!! This is the elusive Canadian Lynx, so evasive that his numbers in the wild are not known. This is a solitary animal whose existence is threatened by deforestation and the encroachment of man. I have meticulously painted “his excellency” in soft strokes of watercolor so as not to disturb him. He watched me the whole time. This great Cat is another of my favorites and is unfortunately found on the U.S. list of endangered species. The National Wildlife Federation is campaigning to try to make ensure a future for the remaining lynx that roam the northern forests. For further information, please look into their website.
