Malachite Kingfisher

What struck me about this little Kingfisher was the magnificent brilliance of his feathers. I painted him during my watercolor phase, of which I have long since abandoned. This is the most charming little bird, which lives a solitary life in southern Africa. Sadly few of us will ever be lucky enough to see one in the wild, but you can let this Cheery fellow bring sunshine into any room in your home.
